Carey's Custom Canvas is a new venture started by Carey DeWitt. Carey has over 10 years in this type of business, b

eginning in 1992 when Carey joined the US Navy. The Navy sent Carey to its Aircrew Survival Equipmentman School near Memphis Tennessee, where she learned how to use an industrial sewing machine. While still in the Navy, Carey learned to fabricate various items for her squadron at Naval Weapons Testing Center in China Lake California. The main sewing focus was for tool pouches. These tool pouches were used to ensure that no tools were lost while various personnel worked on the aircraft. This was highly specialized work, with a great need for attention to detail. Once her stint in the Navy was over, Carey moved to Pueblo Colorado, where she soon found a job with Pueblo Tent & Awning. While working at Pueblo Tent & Awning from 1996 to 2004, and then seasonally until 2009, Carey made a wide variety of fabricated items ranging from small covers - engine covers, air conditioner covers - to large tarps, hunting tents, boat covers, and tents for party rentals. Carey became the Manager of Pueblo Tent & Awning in 1999, and remained in that position until 2004. Carey is well versed in all aspects of this type of business, including inventory control, bookkeeping, customer service, purchasing, and fabrication. Carey's Custom canvas is a multi-faceted business. Not only will we provide services, but we will be manufacturing custom made products as well. We will provide these products and services through the utilization of industrial sewing machines. Our primary products will be:
Design & production of custom-fit boat covers. Design through manufacture of various canvas and vinyl products, such as tarps or general custom-fit covers, for uses ranging from personal through industrial. Design and production of custom-made tents for hunting purposes. We will also accept, and repair various canvas & vinyl products brought to us from customers throughout the Central Valley region. Most of our customers have not found that much of a problem though.

However, did you know will repair their own products?
From 'We do offer whole‑zipper replacements for eligible Carhartt gear at no cost. To move forward and determine whether the item qualifies for a full zipper replacement, we’ll need a few details about your gear.
When you’re ready, please provide:
-Full shipping address
-Phone number
-Style number, color, and size of the item (found on the inside label)
-When the item was purchased (Month/Year)
-Where it was purchased (Carhartt.com or retailer)
-If purchased on Carhartt.com: the email address and order number associated
-If purchased elsewhere: whether a return was attempted and what the retailer advised
Once we receive this information, we’ll be able to assess the situation and continue the process for the appropriate hardware replacement.
