Atomic Sprinklers is officially closed for the year!
Feel free to reach out to us at 435-840-8170 if you have a sprinkler emergency, but we’re closing up for standard operations until next season! It’s been a pleasure to serve you all in 2025 and we’re looking forward to taking care of you once again in 2026!

Well this is definitely a first for us 😂 Apparently the squirrels on our clients property decided that their sprinklers would make a good chew toy, just about every exposed sprinkler in their yard had gnaw marks or was chewed through.
Sprinklers are our specialty but rodents not so much and we’re open to new ideas for deterrent.

Squirrels may be famous for winter preparation but you definitely don’t want them handling the sprinkler winterization.

It’s almost time to get those sprinklers ready for the cold! Water can be one of the most powerful forces in nature, its ability to resist compression is almost unmatched. When frozen that nearly uncompressable liquid can expand in volume by as much as 9%!

What does that mean in a pipe filled with water and nowhere to go? Either the pipe stretches or the pipe breaks and metal or plastic aren’t the best at stretching, so more often than not you get a burst pipe or a crack along the way.

Atomic Sprinklers history lesson!

Did you know that the patent for the first sprinkler comparable to modern lawn sprayers was obtained by Joseph Lessler in 1871?

As far as I’ve been able to find, no photographs of a functional version exist, it’s entirely possible that few to none were ever actually constructed or sold. It’s equally possible that some were made and lost or destroyed before being able to be photographed as it was the 1800’s after all!

The photo for the patent still remains, as well as a description of how it worked.

The sprinkler would combine the function of a small ornamental lawn fountain(complete with little statue on top, but the patent notes the feature could be altered), as well as a lawn spraying sprinkler nozzle.

A hose would be attached to the device similar to modern portable lawn sprinkler available at any hardware store. In the original drawing the spray nozzle is in the hand of the statue above the hose. The device could then be moved around as needed to water the lawn. Sounds like it was somewhere between a sprinkler and a lawn gnome 😂

We’ve come a long way when it comes to sprinkler design and function since then but innovation has to start somewhere! And being fully honest I wish we kept a bit of that older aesthetic charm in the newer stuff.

Atomic sprinklers are doing our first giveaway!!

It’s really no secret that the inspiration for our name came from our owners long love for the Fallout series of games as well as the show on Prime.

Amazon has recently released a trailer and release date for season 2 of the Fallout TV series and Atomic sprinklers has decided to geek out and celebrate what we consider to be fantastic news with a giveaway!

One winner will receive the following, inspired by the Fallout universe.

-A GQ electronics GMC-800 Geiger counter
-A case of 12 MRE star MRE’s.
-2, 24 count cases of glass bottle coke as well as 2, 6 packs of Henry Weinhard’s root beer(To get a head start on those bottle caps 😊)
-$100.00 cash(because some pre-war money is helpful to barter)
-A 2 strap Milspec Plus duffle bag(to carry all that loot)
