David Carbo Art Art of David Carbo David was born with a passion for art. Among his earliest memories is painting on cardboard inserts from his father’s new shirts. Mr.

Throughout his teenage years his fledgling talent grew and he produced more complex artworks and garnered a slew of awards. When he decided to make art his life he received his formal training in illustration at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Then, inspired by his Native American roots, he set out for the picturesque Alaskan wilderness when he specialized in en plein air

painting. He remains a grand aficionado of landscape painting and the freedom it offers a painter and a lover of nature. In 1983 Carbo returned to his hometown of Santa Monica, California to put his artistic talent to work as art therapist in the service of those suffering from mental health disorders. In the midst of this avocation his art caught the attention of a film producer who was so captivated by his imagination and skill that he asked David to bring his expertise to his upcoming film. This fortuitous happenchance led to an illustrious 26-year television and motion picture career. Seventeen of those years were spent working as a set painter on NCIS, the world’s most popular television drama series. This opportunity allowed him to paint on a large scale incorporating a diversity of subjects and imaginative styles. Carbo is personally interested in exploring the themes of Space and Time and depicting the life and culture of Native Americans. His works have been shown in numerous galleries and art venues throughout California. David Carbo, his easel, brushes and paints presently reside in Topanga Canyon, California where he draws inspiration from his mountain surroundings, his Italian/Swedish wife, Eva Annika and their three cats: Molly, Speedy and Puma.
