What a difference a spring clean-up makes.

How often should you actually be watering your lawn in Kansas?

In spring, most lawns need about one inch of water per week, and natural rainfall usually covers a good chunk of that. Once summer heat arrives, your lawn's demand goes up and consistent irrigation becomes essential.

A few things to keep in mind: water in the early morning, not at night. Nighttime watering promotes fungus and disease. Water deeply and less frequently rather than a light sprinkle every day. Deep watering encourages roots to grow down, which makes your lawn more resilient when July and August hit hard.

Signs you're overwatering: mushy spots, fungus developing in shaded areas, and a lawn that looks green but feels spongy underfoot. More water isn't always better.
