Traverse City’s Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) is currently hosting a collaborative art exhibition, “Windows to Wonder” that features seven artists from the area.

Utilizing uniquely shaped panels that mimic the iconic shape of an airplane window, the collection explores the “window seat headspace” - that rare moment of transition where the physical world meets the
expansive thinking of the mind. From the quiet glow of city lights to whimsical scenes in the clouds, this collection invites you to pause and find your own sense of wonder mid-journey.

The installation features a diverse range of styles, from the structured beauty of Michigan’s winter landscapes to surrealist dreams and celebratory toasts at 30,000 feet. The exhibition is currently on display in the main terminal, with works available for purchase via individual artist websites or as a complete group installation.

Location: Main Terminal, TVC Airport

My new painting 'The Cosmos Is Within' invites you to take a trip down (or out of) the recursive rabbit hole. 🌋 🦋 🤯 DM me with inquiries.

Butterflies erupt in a kaleidoscopic plume. A volcanologist faces us, hands held to their helmet, turned away from the eruption, caught in the recursive loop of an image growing out from itself and framed back within itself.  I am thrilled to share the recent completion of The Cosmos Is W

Is this (still) a tradition? Dunno, but I enjoy seeing which posts appealed the most to y’all this year, so here are my top nine liked posts for 2025.

Six of these are digital drawings that are still in the backlog to become paintings at some point. Maybe in 2026 🤷‍♂️🤠

Wishing you a merry Christmas, or a wonderful holiday of any variety that you celebrate. This is a great time of year to reflect on the gift we have in being able to make art and share it with the world.

I completed this painting “First New Snow” nearly a year ago, and have not posted it yet. It’s a larger painting - 62”x46” - based on a very small gouache I painted the day we moved to Northern Michigan, which just happened to be a big snow storm on New Year’s Day 2018.

Thus painting is structured around larger shapes and broader areas of color than is typical for me at this scale, I am including some details so that you can see how the shapes are built up through various layers of paint, and to show some of the nuance in the edges.

Sugar River Tree Climb • Acrylic • 37.5x29 in

Recently completed, inspiration came from a family trip we took to the Northeast this past summer, which included a visit to my hometown Newport, NH. The River that runs through town is called the Sugar River and it gets its name from the amber color of the water, which resembles maple syrup a bit, and this is pretty typical of water in that region because of tannins. It might sound a bit icky but the water is beautiful and clean and distinctive.
