SUPPLY DRIVE: BUILDING STRONGER STUDENTS, STRONGER SCHOOLS

Woodhaven Fire as well as Woodhaven Police charities have joined forces to support local students by collecting essential school supplies and the impact this will have is real and immediate.

The Challenge
* Over 37% of students in the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District live in economically disadvantaged households.
* That’s more than 2,000 students who may show up on day one without the basics: backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and more.

The Impact

When students walk into school with the supplies they need:

* Confidence increases — kids are more focused, engaged, and ready to learn.
* Attendance improves — students are more likely to show up and stay on track.
* Teachers can teach — not spend time filling supply gaps or managing disparities.
* School performance rises — classrooms become more equitable and productive.

This isn’t just a kind gesture. It’s a direct investment in academic success, youth development, and long-term community health.

How You Can Help
* Donate backpacks and school supplies
* Sponsor a student just, $25 fills a backpack venmo info will be posted.
* Drop-off at Woodhaven Police Department front lobby. Starting August 5th after 12pm and will go for 2 weeks.

With community support and the leadership of our first responders, we can make sure every student in Woodhaven-Brownstown starts the school year ready and equipped.
