Woohoo! This service entrance cable is ruined needing replacement! The bare wire is the neutral conductor, which every strand is incomplete because it's broken.

My own test on some relatively new connectors! I tried to make them fail but was unsuccessful! Connected a load of 19 amps for 25 mins, then proceeded to twist, pull, shove, bend, etc on connectors to no avail. Also connectors never got hot, signifying a great connection. I expected them to fail. In normal applications they would not be treated with such abuse! I only care to do a job once and with these connectors maybe the jobs can be accomplished quicker.
