Come along while I gather supplies and show you how to make this super cute Halloween ghost swag wreath! This was one of two swags that I made for a custom order. Hopefully this will give you some Halloween inspo for your own Halloween decorating!

Coordinating doesn’t have to be hard but when you get stuck remember these steps. They will help with balance colors and textures.

This is my method when I pick things out for a wreath, garland or bow!

Loving these 5 ribbons together. I will be using them in an upcoming project and matched them to my sign, attachment, and other elements that are going into the wreath. Stay tuned for the finished look!

Pulling everything together is a daunting task but if we match things to what we already have it makes it a little easier on our design process.

Do you like matching things or find it to be overwhelming? Let me know⬇️

Join me while I show you how to make the bow of the week! A candy corn inspired 6 ribbon bow. I love how these ribbons brought the fun and whimsical side of Halloween together without screaming candy corn. These bows are great on wreaths, lanterns, porch posts, garlands or any other places you can think of!

Here is the finished bow of the week! I love how it turned out!!😊

Signs and attachments can get tricky!

I attach signs and attachments the same way with one difference. I usually put glue on the attachment as well. So both get tied to the base to ensure they WILL NOT move at all especially when they get to their new home. If you want to see how I secured this sign I posted a tutorial earlier today here on my page.

Here is how I attach a sign to a mesh wreath. I always try to attach it to the frame of the base. This ensures that’s it is tight and isn’t going to move when it gets to my customer.

Three things I always think about in my design process are

✅Focal points- how many are there, what is the size, is there a sign, attachment, or both?
✅Colors- am I building the colors in the wreath from the focal point or just have some colors in mind. Sometimes clients tell me what colors they want and I just go from there.
✅Textures- greenery, ribbons, florals, picks, ornaments and all of the other add ins give the wreath design dimension and make it pop or stand out.

This makes the process of putting it all together a little quicker. (As long as I am not overthinking things!😂) Of course I have been known to ditch the planning and do whatever too.

Do you plan it out or just wing it?

Before I even begin designing a wreath there are a few things that I need to think about first. Focal points, color, and texture are the big ones.

Getting these things figured out at the beginning makes for a more cohesive process when putting it all together.
