Ferocactus wislizeni, or the Fishhook Barrel! This thing was completely rotted out other than the 6 inches at the top! 🪲🪲🪲I couldn’t stand looking at them long enough but my guess is longhorn beetle grubs! 🙈

White thorn acacia or Vachellia constricta! 🪾A true desert plant that can truly handle our lack of rain here in the desert and still put off a ton of benefits from erosion control, animal habitats, food for insects, and medicinal purposes using leaves, roots, flowers and pods! Very rarely planted by homeowners but something we see almost on a daily basis out in the desert!

Love when we get to help the trees 💚
This client’s trees had been declining since turf was installed. After some discussion, we installed a 6-foot diameter circle around the base — giving the trees room to breathe again!

Benefits of the circle:
• 🌬️ Better oxygen exchange
• 💧 Improved water absorption
• ☀️ Reduced heat trap from turf
• 🌱 Less soil compaction

Excited to see these trees bounce back and thrive! 🌳
