Don’t let my scowl fool ya, Zach and I couldn’t be more proud to be on this project.

Nathan’s Handyman was hired by Make a Wish Foundation Arizona to build this solarium for a very a very special human who shall remain anonymous but hold closse to our hearts.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation, however, we’d publicly acknowledge and thank for the AMAZING, soulful work they do. Because while all the jobs we do matter, some remind us of how precious our everyday day is.

It’s not the always about the work we do, it’s often why we do the work we do.

Sure, we get jobs because we have the training, the tools, and the experience. But we also take to heart that behind every job has a story.

There have been so many jobs we have taken on because of a life change. People have changes in health. People lose loved ones. Kids move out. New children are welcomed home.

We recognize you invite us into your home. We recognize there is a human history there, your history. Count on us to to do the work with respect to your story.

Nathan's Handyman Service is local and family-owned and operated; we all take pride in that. And we also have a lot enthusiasm for the culture that is Tucson, other local businesses, and believe in the synergy that occurs when you know who you are and want to enjoy and champion other local organizations; which brings us to Saguaro Corners.

I was headed home after working with James (I’ll introduce James next week) and feeling a bit celebratory after working with a great client who told me “you have more than exceeded my expectations”. Of course that is always wonderful to hear, and it was all the reason I needed to turn the van around and pull into and transition into off-duty with what is very probably my favorite patio seating in all of Tucson.

Aside from their menu, and their acoustic live music the thing I love the most about Saguaro Corners are the misters on their patio. Sitting here truly feels off-duty in an rural area of Tucson that feels like a trip back in time and like you are doing something special for yourself.

But let me close on the misters, we are a Handyman outfit after all. I’ve installed several of these for our clients. All you have to have is have outdoor seating and a hose outlet, we can install misters for you in a real reasonable amount of time. That’s also doing something special for yourself. Tech Talk:

“Tucson, is that really you?!”

When working with another tech it isn’t uncommon for the conversation wander from “do you have a 10mm socket…a sharp multi-blade…what where those measurements?” To, “What are you doing this weekend?”…and “fishing” isn’t an uncommon answer.

Yesterday I worked a commercial project with John. And while I look forward to working with each of the crew for different reasons, one of the reasons I really like working with John is because he is like this endless space of experience. He is always surprising me with something new and this time it happened to be a location. I had no idea this place existed but had driven by it at least a 100 times.

Last night, instead of fish, I opted to pack a picnic and take my wife out to dinner here. What a blast. There is a 1950’s undertone of summer camp here, and, while there is ample space the place is also “well traveled”.

Who knows where this is? Put the park name in the comments! If no one guesses I’ll post it on Monday, because in my mind, that’s locals taking care of locals with the scoop on the hot locations!

When little things have big vibes, they aren’t little things.
I spent the last three days building a fence for young Air Force parents who have three lovely daughters.
On occasion, I’d catch a glimpse of a curious young lady peeking out through the picture window to watch my partner and I work.
This morning she came out with her mama carrying fresh banana bread for my partner and I.
As soon as she gave it to us she ran behind her mama’s legs with beaming a smile and was gorgeously pleased with herself.
Every day I thank the Maker for a day I have never lived before, and look the blessings I get, mana (is clearly homemade banana bread) for breakfast served with innocence.
I am grateful.
