Irrigation Technician – Tucson, Arizona
Company: Alexander’s Garden Service
Location: Tucson, AZ
Position Type: Irrigation Technician

Job Overview:
Alexander’s Garden Service is seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial irrigation systems throughout Tucson. This role requires hands-on experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in Arizona’s desert climate.

Key Responsibilities:
Install and repair drip and sprinkler irrigation systems
Diagnose and troubleshoot leaks, pressure issues, and valve malfunctions
Program and adjust irrigation controllers for seasonal efficiency
Perform system inspections, flushing, and maintenance
Ensure proper water distribution for plant health and conservation
Work with PVC pipe, valves, emitters, and timers
Coordinate with team members on larger landscape projects
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of desert landscaping and plant watering requirements
Experience with drip irrigation systems (highly preferred in Tucson)
Basic understanding of fertilization (NPK knowledge a plus)
Familiarity with rainwater harvesting or permaculture (a plus)
Ability to read irrigation plans and layouts

Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to tow and operate a trailer
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work outdoors in high temperatures
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Relevant certifications preferred:
ALCA / Irrigation Association certifications (CIT, CID, CLIA, CIC)
Smartscape Certification

Compensation:
$20–$30 per hour (based on experience)
