This piece was purchased from the estate of Howard Hughes in the mid 70s. Bought by a woman who is now in her mid 90s and then recently sold to a friend/furniture dealer of mine.

It came to me with the top veneer gone and broken/loose veneer all over. It had been used and abused for 50 years. Here’s the before and after. New walnut veneer that needed to be bleached and dyed to match the UV baked existing millwork. I carefully glued, repaired, touched up, and refinished it entirely. Although my customer is a fine furniture dealer, he has decided it will stay in his home. Cheers!

Sometimes a piece comes in with a cool past! This one from the estate of Howard Hughes! This one came in a mess. Tons of damage and missing the top veneer. I’ll post when done. Cheers!

Didn’t take a before, but this one was in bad shape. Destroyed by someone that tried to redo it. It took me about twice as long as I bid it, but here it is. New fabric and all. Made it to its home in a beautiful mid century modern living room.

Didn’t get a before pic, but the wood portion of this Italian cafe table was bare and Arizona abused. The metal rusted and rough. Lots of repair and coats of paint, but here it is. Done in International Harvester Red tractor paint.
