Ever wonder what your lawn tech is actually doing at 7 AM? 👀🌱

While most companies are just spreading granular, our techs are custom mixing liquid applications built specifically for YOUR lawn. More targeted treatment, better absorption, and multiple applications in one visit = greener grass, fewer w**ds, and better results.

There’s a science behind the sprayer over here. 🧪💚

POV: your lawn doesn’t need another bag of granular tossed out and crossed fingers 🤷‍♀️🌱

Step 3 is here: pre-emergent + post-emergent + fertilizer ALL in one treatment. While the other guys are spreading granular you could grab at the store yourself, we’re out here mixing customized liquid applications backed by actual science behind the sprayer.

More bang for your buck.
More nutrients for your grass.
Greener, thicker, happier lawns.

Liquid treatments allow us to target w**ds while feeding your lawn at the same time, creating better coverage and more efficient results without multiple separate applications. 👏

Your lawn this summer will thank you.

Zoysia patch (or large patch)
A common fungal disease (Rhizoctonia solani) causing brown, circular dead spots, often with orange, wilting rings in spring or fall. It thrives in high moisture, thick thatch, and cool, wet, mild weather. Manage it by reducing watering, reducing nitrogen fertilizer in early spring/late fall, and using fungicides.

Key Management and Treatment Steps:

Cultural Practices (Prevention):
Reduce Moisture: Avoid overwatering and water in the early morning.
Thatch Management: Keep thatch under 1/2 inch to improve drainage.
Aeration: Core-aerate in the spring to improve soil, as suggested by.
Fertility: Avoid high nitrogen application in early spring or late fall, which can trigger disease.
Mowing: Increase mowing height to reduce stress; remove clippings if infection is present.

Fungicide Treatments (Control):
Preventative: Apply fungicides in the fall when soil temperatures drop to 70°F for 5 consecutive days, or in spring.
Active Ingredients: Look for products containing Azoxystrobin, Propiconazole, or Heritage G.
Application: Use high water volumes (2-3 gal/1,000 sq ft) to ensure the fungicide reaches the soil.

❄️🌱 WINTER DIE-BACK (WINTERKILL) vs. SPRING DEAD SPOT

Seeing brown patches in your lawn this spring? Not all damage is the same—here’s how to tell the difference and what it means for your yard:

Winter Die-Back (Winterkill)
• Caused by extreme cold, dehydration, and freeze/thaw cycles
• Typically affects large areas or the entire lawn
• Grass may look dead but can still be dormant and recover

Spring Dead Spot (SDS)
• A fungal disease (Ophiosphaerella) that infects turf in the fall
• Appears as circular, sunken patches in spring
• Common in Bermudagrass (and sometimes Zoysia)
• Returns in the same spots year after year—and can spread

🔍 How to Spot the Difference:
• Pattern:
>>Winterkill = widespread, uneven browning
>>SDS = distinct circular patches or rings
• Spring Growth:
>> Winterkill = may show green at the base
>> SDS = completely dead, brown, and sunken
• Long-Term Impact:
>> Winterkill = usually a one-time issue
>> SDS = recurring and often gets worse

🌿 SDS Quick Facts:
• Patches can range from a few inches to several feet
• Recovery is slow—often takes the full growing season
• Prevention starts in the fall with proper lawn care (which may include doing a preventative fungicide treatment)

🧪 Try the Tug Test:
• Dormant grass: Firm, hard to pull, green/white at the base
• Dead grass (SDS): Pulls up easily with dark, rotted roots

Great lawns, happy customers… we’d say that’s a pretty good combo 😎
