Did you know that by supporting Josephine's Garden, you're supporting a local disabled person? Now you do, and I'm so grateful for all of you.

Unfortunately it also means that sometimes life gets in the way...but I'm back! And I have a great deal going!

Coming soon: more flame violets and purple passion plants!

Currently rooting in sphagnum moss soaked in organic willow rooting hormone.

Episcia: $5 ea

Gynura aurantiaca: $7 ea

Episcia, otherwise known as the flame violet, is the African violet's American cousin! These are a trailing type of violet, coming in a wide variety of foliage and flower colors. Varieties pictured: pink panther (green leaves with dark/bronze edges and hot pink flowers), and raspberry pie (dark leaves with bright red flowers).

Gynura aurantiaca is most commonly called the purple passion plant, and is a delightfully unique plant native to Southeast Asia. It's mostly grown for its deep green leaves covered in bright purple, pettable fuzz, but also produces small orange flowers. While a lot of plants are some degree of toxic to curious cats and dogs, gynura is completely nontoxic to people, cats, dogs, and horses.

Rhoeo, commonly called "oyster plant," is a mounding upright in the tradescantia family. They're drought-resistant and can be kept indoors as a houseplant or planted outside during the summer! Put them in bright light to watch them turn a sunny golden yellow, with the trademark pink underside typical to this plant family.

Are you a fan of African violets? Then you'll love episcia and streptocarpus caulescens - flame violets and nodding violets! These beautiful, pettable plants are drought-resistant and produce beautiful blooms. Pictured are the adult plants my starters come from 💚

Welcome everyone!

100 years ago, Viola Josephine fed herself and her daughters with her vegetable garden and canning skills. Today that legacy lives and grows in midtown Tulsa!

I'm just getting started, but thanks to the weekend's sun the garden prep has officially begun 💚
