This is gold. Yes OKLAHOMA being represented but the greater thing is a son of a hero who’s never met his father, was recognized along with his father by the President of the United States. Takes a strong woman to go through all of it and raise the son of a hero

Well done Corporal

On September 20, 2019, Corporal Alexandra Nowak was driving down I-15 near Escondido, CA when multiple cars collided in front of her. One SUV rolled and landed on it's side. Nowak pulled over and ran toward the wrecked vehicle. A 9-month-old baby and 4-year-old child rode in back with their mother driving. Nowak helped the baby and child from the vehicle then returned for the mother. As she attempted to enter the front seat, she realized the woman's arm was nearly severed and bleeding heavily. Nowak sprinted to her vehicle, grabbed a tourniquet she kept inside, and put it on the severed arm. She kept the woman conscious until First Responders arrived to get the victim to a hospital, where she would survive due to Nowak's quick actions.

For her initiative rescuing the family from the vehicle, Nowak was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
