**Note from daughter Lisa Merrell...Dad offered his heirloom tomato plants and saved his seeds from the help of neighbors and friends from 1994 to 2002. I moved back to Tulsa in 2003 to help and learn from him. In 2006 he was diagnosed with cancer and passed away on April 24,2008 in Jenks, Ok. the same month as his father Dan. I have decided, with much encouragement from Dad, family, friends, co-workers and customers, to carry on the growing tradition on the Old Home Place Farm** Jan. 28,2010

We are now closed for the Spring Season!!!

Please don’t fret if you missed us. I will open again in mid-July for a second chance for plants. Stay tuned for dates and hours.

All of us at TMD hold much gratitude for your support over the years. Each season brings new adventures here and I love sharing it with our TMD community.

Only TWO shopping days left for our Spring season!!!

I wanted to feature these two gals! A big thank you and lots of hugs to Jamie and Carla. They have been the “everything behind the scene” gals this season.

For example, Carla has been wanting me to put photos on the paper bags that we use to describe the plants on our sales floor for years. So, she and Jamie snuck in a couple of written bags with the pictures while we were transplanting to change my mind. The customers have loved being able to see what the tomatoes are going to look like this season!

There are many more examples of what these two have contributed to make sure that Tomato Man’s Daughter had a successful spring season! Our community here at TMD is absolutely amazing and I am so very grateful.

I couldn’t do all of this without my dedicated staff and friends.

A big thank you for all of you out there that came to see us yesterday at the farm and the Jenks Herb and Plant Festival! The entire TMD crew enjoyed a fabulous award winning chili family meal made by our friend and customer, Doug Redding. He makes us a dinner every year just because he loves what we do. Thank you Doug!

We had so much fun celebrating last night with lots of laughter! Also, a huge “Tomato Man” hug to the TMD crew. Please know I appreciate you guys more than I can say. All of you have done a bang up job this season♥️♥️♥️

Today is the anniversary of my Dad’s passing…18 years ago!

I wanted to share some fun yearbook photos from his 1957 Jenks Trojan Senior year.

He was on the football team, student council, class favorite and a future business leader in America! Quite the resume : )

I’m so grateful that he shared his vast knowledge of many things and encouraged me to be a free thinker and to find something meaningful to do with my life.

We miss you Darrell Merrell, the Tomato Man!♥️♥️♥️
