Today we laid to rest Eric.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Eric Miller, our leader, mentor, and friend.

Eric was more than just the leader of this company—he was the heart of it. A giver, a provider, a friend, and a protector, he led with integrity, humility, and a deep commitment to everyone around him. His vision built more than a business; it built a family.

To know Eric was to admire him. He made time for people, valued relationships, and carried a quiet strength that inspired those who worked beside him.

As we move forward, we are committed to honoring his legacy by continuing the work he loved, with the same passion, care, and excellence he instilled in us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Thank you, Eric, for everything. You and Brad will always be the foundation of Lighthouse Electric.

Eric was more than a leader. He was a beacon of generosity and kindness— always smiling, always giving. Whether it was a job, a helping hand, or the shirt off his back, Eric never hesitated to lift others up. His energy, compassion, and drive touched the lives of everyone around him.
We are deeply saddened by his passing and will miss him more than words can express. Please keep our LHE and LIS families in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult journey without the man who inspired us every day.

Job Summary:
Inspect, install, remove, and repair electrical and electro-mechanical equipment in a safe, logical, and efficient manner complying with all electrical codes and safety regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Installs, repairs, and maintains district electrical and lighting systems Installs conduit, wires, switches, outlets, plugs, underground cables, power circuits and panels, transformer panels, and other wiring required for electrical and lighting systems.
Inspects building wiring, panels, and electrical fixtures and rectifies unsafe conditions.
Ensures that all electrical work performed conforms too electrical and safety codes.
Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Obtain necessary material and supplies.
Remain in compliance with current OSHA safety regulations.

Qualifications and skills:
Current Journeyman License for Construction Industries Board.
OSHA 10 or 30 hours preferred.
Able to work well on a team.
Excellent hand-eye coordination.
Demonstrable knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
Strong interpersonal communication.

Physical Limitations:

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, lift, and perform all aspects of electrical installation on a daily basis.
Use of power tools on a daily basis.
Job may require working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain or snow.
Must wear personal protective equipment when job requires so (hard hat, safety glasses, leather boots, and gloves.)

HEAT STRESS
With the heat continuing to rise in Oklahoma we want to put some awareness out there for not only our employees but our customers and other trades.
Heat stress can be a killer on construction site this summer. Safe practices to do to prevent heat stress or even a heat stroke.

1. Drink plenty of water during any activity in hot environments. An average person sweats between roughly 27 oz to 47 oz per hour during intense labor. To put that amount into perspective, an average water bottle holds 16.9oz.
2. It can take roughly 2 weeks for an individual to acclimate to a hot environment. Take breaks when needed to cool off in a shaded area
3. Drinking water outside of work will help keep you hydrated when you are in a hot environment
4. Keep an eye on coworkers for signs of heat illness

Signs of heat illness:
fainting
dizziness
lack of sweating
red, hot, & dry skin
confusion
rapid heartbeat

Treatments for heat stress or stroke:
Alert supervisor ASAP
Call 911
Take worker to a cool shaded area
Apple cool water to their body
Place ice packs or cold water bottles in their armpits to help lower core temperature
