Gramps' Chesnok Red garlic scapes are coming on strong too! He planted approx 1275 CR cloves. If they all came up, which it looks like they did, we will have approx 1275 scapes for you!

How many Carpathian variety were planted? Approx 1800. Some of those did not come up OR are small, but still about 1750-ish garlic scapes. I (Kara) presume I have picked approx 1,000 or so of those so far.

Hardneck garlic varieties produce the scapes. Do you have favorite ways to use garlic scapes? We use in recipes just like garlic cloves. I like in salads, omelets, meatloaf, ... If you like the taste of garlic, just muuch on a scape; I prefer the smaller ones as very tender.

Don't worry—it happens and your garlic will be okay.😁

This photo shows the regrowth of a harvested scape. This can happen, and it isn't something to stress about.

✨️The important part? Since the flower bud was already removed, the plant will start to direct its energy into growing a bigger, healthier bulb.🧄

You don't need to pick the garlic scape again since the flower bud has already been removed. Any regrowth will only extend a few inches before stopping, as the plant is now focused on sending its energy to the bulb.

Have you ever noticed this happen after harvesting your scapes? YES!
