I’m currently working on some big screens for Willamette University’s Eaton Hall. The two big windows in one of the offices are casement style on the lower half. To access the hardware to open them requires the window screens to be made of 1” stand off frame, with two wicket windows built into them. The wicket windows allow you to open them, reach through and access the hardware. You can only imagine that on a nice summer morning, how important it is to open your office windows and let the fresh air in.

Just finished a screen project for a customer in Stayton. This project was a rental unit in 1/2 of a duplex. A few of the screens we could save, and they were re-screened. One screen was missing and had to be replaced. The missing screen had to have a new one built to replace it. Measurements were taken and it was replaced. Good as new ! A new patio screen door was also custom built to fit the opening. It fits and works better than the original equipment, IMO.

Just finished installing some custom made window screens for our customer. Just so you know, on older homes, they sometimes settle, causing them to be out of square. I made 10 screens for this home. Several had to have the measurements tweaked a little to make them fit perfectly. On the main level of the home, the single hung wood windows were fitted with Jiffy Clip Hangers & a bail catch on the sill. Notice the screen has a cross support at the meet rail, (approximately the halfway point). This is a common practice for this style of wood windows. The basement had an older style of hopper windows. I decided on installing the screens to the face of the 2x4 surrounds. I used 3/4” turn clips to secure them in place. Zoom in on the pictures and you may be able to see the mounting clips used.
Overall our customers were very happy with their new screens, and I truthfully believe our screens added to the overall beauty of their new to them home. That to me is the most important thing of all ! They just moved to the area from out of state, and I for one welcome them !!
