Did you know there was a poem about clematis? 😉 It goes like this:

First year they sleep.
Second year they creep.
Third year they leap!

These photos feature the elegant ‘Guernsey Cream’ in its “creep” year. Planted last summer, it spent the season building a strong root system. This spring, it has graced us with a few lovely flowers and next summer it will leap to fill the trellis shown in the second photo.

Hummingbird Farm will be open Memorial Day weekend, including Monday! Find us at 202 Bean St in Turner from 9 to 5 May 23nd-25th.

Here in Maine, a very special group of Super Early, Super Easy clematis bloom around Memorial Day. After Maine's long, cold winters, we treasure these varieties for their winter hardiness and early flowers, disease resistance and other great qualitites.

To celebrate these wonderful clematis, they are on sale through Memorial Day at the remarkable price of $19.99 each. Sale ends at 5 pm EDT on Monday, May 25th. Prices are good at the farm and through our website.
