Yesterday, 8 members of the Turtle Lake Garden Club joined several Turtle Lake teachers and students at two parks and four various downtown locations to do Earth Day clean up. Leaves were raked, branches and garbage picked up, and mulch put down as required. Much work was accomplished by everyone working together. Many thanks to all those involved. Special thanks to Kathryn from the club, who worked with the school to coordinate this event. Club members who worked at the event were: Betty, Kuba, Carole K, Donna, Diane, Jeanne, Laura H, and Kathryn.

We had a great evening at the Parkview Gardening Seminar this past Wednesday. Interesting gardening information was presented by Master Gardener Janet Brandt and Lucas West, owner of Growing Wishes Greenhouse.

The Garden Club had a table at this event. Wonderful photos about our 23 year old Club, gardening information, and information on the many activities we are involved with were shared. Club VP Carole K spoke briefly about our meeting dates and times, and a summary of our major activities. She advised attendees about a new and upcoming Seed Exchange Program in partnership with our Public Library. She also encouraged people to join our hard working and fun Turtle Lake Area Garden Club.

Thank you Parkview Church for giving us this wonderful opportunity to talk to the public about our club. And thanks to all our club members who could attend and assist at our table.

Won't be much longer when we will reach our goal of 1,000 pounds total saved from the landfill. Club members have been very busy lately. Monday, we dismantled our fall display we had at the Village Park for the past several weeks. Hope you have enjoyed it!

Then we were busy processing lots of plastic on both Monday and Tuesday. Kathryn took a load down to Eau Claire this week, and Laura N took a load down on October 23rd. Thanks to members who were so helpful in all these endeavors. Next up: DOWNTOWN fall/winter planters to be done soon!
