I am a long-time gardener. I also have a lot of extra stuff to re-home. I am going to have a few yard and plant sales. I will list the plants on this page. I have plenty of edible and ornamental plants in both common and uncommon varieties. I will post a list here. All my plants will be harden

ed off with strong, healthy root systems. Organic Growing
I like to know what goes into my garden. I don’t like pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Sometimes they seem like an easy fix or a quick way to boost growth, but in the long run they often cause more harm than good. A healthy garden is best established through developing a healthy ecosystem. I inoculate the soil with beneficial fungus. I use nematodes, “friendly” insects and companion planting to fight pests whenever possible. A good dose of soapy water also goes a long way to keeping bad stuff away. Plus, it helps loosen up the soil. This means plants look less perfect, but as the song says, “give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees.” A few spots never hurt anybody and as long as you don’t find half-a-worm, sacrificing a fruit or two is better than drenching things in poison. Sometimes, I have to give in and use an insecticide. I have not done so during the 2021 growing season and I hope that I don’t have to, but if I do, the name of the product and date used will be listed on every pot. Dates
The first group will be ready to sell for immediate planting on Saturday, May 1st. If they do not sell-out, I will extend the sell to Sunday, May 2nd. The second group was started slightly later and will be ready to sell for immediate planting on Saturday, May 16th and potentially extended to Sunday, May 17th. Additional sale dates will be announced on this page as I am able. I don’t know how quickly plants will sell. If it looks like I have enough, I will have a sale between the two I listed. We also have a long growing season and I really like to experiment. I frequently end up with extra plants. If I end up with good stuff, it is likely that I will have extra small sales throughout the season. Pre-sales
If you want to come by some other time, send me a Facebook message and I will do my best to accommodate you. Holds
I will only hold plants with a 50% deposit. Payment
Cash is great. Checks are not. I have PayPal, Cash App and Venmo. If there is some other Android Ap you want to use, I will do my best to set it up. Pricing
I hate to haggle. I like to be fair. keep in mind that some plants require more attention than others. Some seeds are harder to find or more difficult to germinate. I am trying to keep the prices low while still accounting for the time, and materials needed to grow everything. Support
If you need help figuring out your garden, I am happy to help. I don’t know everything, but I will do my best! Special Requests
If you want a special plant, talk to me. Maybe we can work it out. A Special Note About Bearded Irises
Very few of my Bearded Irises are available for sale. All of them where planted last year so they have not had time to reproduce yet. Many have not even bloomed for the first time so it is difficult to find duplicates. A select few may be separated and traded, but not many. If you are looking for unique Irises, I suggest Schreiners. https://www.schreinersgardens.com/

These are some random shots of the 5 gallon tomato grow bags.

When plants are in small pots, I try to remove flowers/fruit to reduce transplant shock but once they move to bags or large pots, that is no longer necessary. I keep the indeterminate plants heavily pruned to keep fruit close to the main branches and save space, but I dont discourage production. These plants are all flowering or fruiting or both.

The companion plants are growing in nicely. I read an article about planting morning glories to help trellis tomatoes. I did this in a couple of bags. So far, I think its working out well.

To prune or not to prune, that is the question...

Gardeners have long debated the merits of tomato pruning. Some think the tomatos should be allowed conplete anarchy. Let them grow and produce as they wish. Some go to the other extreme and prune tomatos vertically eliminating branching until almost the top when the plant is finally allowed to grow and form a canopy. This is most common in a method of gardening known as, "French Intensive" (info link below).

As to Destin's Plants. I prune to create stronger roots. I prune all the branches and leaves below the first fruit. Then I bury the plant stem all the way to the first remaining branch. If the tomato is determinate, I stop there. If it is indeterminate, I repeat the process until I feel the plant has a sufficiently thick stalk to support the fruit.

If you have purchases one of my plants, you may have noticed the pattern in the root system. Each time I repot and bury the stem, I add a sprinkle of bonemeal which often leaves a ring that is visible at replanting.

I curtently have a long line of 'maters waiting for the pruning sheers. If you want to purchase an un-pruned tomato, speak now, the chopping is imminent
