Old Caz Beer
Architects: Rengel+Company, Architects
On Saturday, June 1, Old Caz Brewing in Santa Rosa, California, opened their new Tasting and Fermentation facility, concurrent with their 5th anniversary. The project consists of a 6-tank capacity fermentation area, cold room, and 1500 square feet of indoor dining/tasting. Outside is a 2000 square foot Beer Garden Patio with stage, food truck parking, and 3 large roll-up doors which open to connect the indoor/outdoor areas. www.oldcaz.com
The design reflects the owners’ need for additional brewing capacity, more indoor tasting capacity, and a beer garden. The design reflects the original concepts used in the original location, also designed by our office. Although the original location was more industrial-oriented, the customers of Old Caz felt a connection to the industrial-funk and the owners wanted a similar feel to the new, larger facility.
The Brewery is now part of the SOMO Village complex, a live/work/entertainment complex which was refurbished from the original Hewlett Packard assembly plant (www.SOMOVillage.com).
