Bunch of new soap has finally cured! I’ve been trying different techniques, and purchased easier to clean molds, but, ease of cleaning has been lost on difficulty elsewhere, lol… alas, nothing worth knowing comes without learning, and my learning curve is evident in these wonky bars, but the soap is super nice!!!!

With anything new, figuring out how to do it is obviously step one, but, packaging is an endeavor in itself that I didn’t give enough credence to previously. It is a feat! I have all this shrink wrap material that I acquired years ago, so I started using it on the soap (it’s a hassle), but I realized I wouldn’t have enough for the 150 bars I have…. Contemplated buying more of it, but, then, as if the pages of Dr. Suess came to life in my kitchen; “The Lorax said nothing. Just gave me a glance... just gave me a very sad, sad backward glance...” I’m not going to order more single use plastic, decided instead to cut parchment. I love the looks of it, and love that it’s not plastic, but lack of brand consistency really tests the perfectionist in me. This packaging is all over the map. Nonetheless, “Now that you're here, the word of the Lorax seems perfectly clear. UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.” 150 bars might seem inconsequential, but spread out over years, it seriously adds up, and that’s just ONE thing. Certain things are hard to forgo, plastic soap sleeves aren’t one of them however.

Anyway, 5 types of soap rolling out (4 new combinations and/or formulas as well as the crowd fav Lemongrass Orange…. Which is my fav too, but, I’m digging these new combos!). I noticed my husband kept buying Sasquatch soap despite our constant soap surplus. Turns out he doesn’t like orange, or lavender, or lemongrass…. He likes that woodsy smell & loves pine tar. Did some digging and tried to recreate the soap he often buys. I’m pretty pleased with it, and while I did sneak in some softer scents to make it smell less like a man in the forest, both he and I love it!

All will be out by Tuesday afternoon.
