We just spent 500 bucks on a conference to learn nothing more than a few optional angles to address insurance on claims to damage to property when dealing with insurance adjusters and debating exact-i-mate numbers. 90% of what was learned is already discovered through trial and fire, and some simply needs case by case adjustment. I am not a stupid man, but I listen and say there are ever changing methods that need to be addressed and presented to insurance for contractors to properly work within the requirements as restricted by city, county or state code requirement. A class of 300 attendees+ at $500 per pop only shows a awesome revenue stream not really related to customer satisfaction and job performance for best interest of property, but for instructor and that marketing aspect. Would have respected a real level discussion of hands on dealing with real inspections, variables with code requirements as related, and combined with adjusters' operations and initial estimates. We do not use same software as the adjusters, so you are not debating same information, but detailing and defining actual costs of labor and material. Do not waver or lean towards any initial estimate - as it is nothing more than a forecasted guess. Your time, your energy, your effort and your methods to repair and replace as need and as controlled by local code authority to replace any damage areas and as insured under any coverage that provides. Ensure the insurance provides coverage for OL - Ordinance or Law Coverage. Include verbiage that your are also providing consultant services for services renderered in acquiring additional insurance funds. This can protect you and allow for billing towards funds obtained through your services rendered through consultant aspect. This really applies to issues when customer may change directions after you provided service to acquire additional insurance coverage funds. Strongly recommend a licensed professional inspector to validate actual damage extent and specific contractor issues that could arise due to location, style, design or other as regulated by city, county or State requirements. We are simply out to protect the consumer, the contractor and the scope of repairs that are needed and covered under extensive insurance coverage. We do not alter or bend to adjust to favor in one direction or another. We are simply in favor of the property and the aspects of coverage to ensure proper repairs and replacement as defined by law. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED OR THINK THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER IS 100 % correct and that is all. These are Estimates, nothing more than assumptive forecasts to future costs. We will make it right, fair and proper in legal and actual coverage aspects to ensure you get what is covered under your hard-earned insurance payments.
