Yes, there are dozens of ways you can reuse a candle container (flower pots, makeup brush stand, pencil container, decorative artifact…). But there are only so many you can have in your home until it starts becoming *too much*.

I love candles. I don’t love waste and the thought of millions of candle containers ending up in landfills each year.

So, over the past three years, I’ve been working on a solution for this problem. One that would also prioritize safety.

It’s Earth Day, giving us a moment to reflect on our impact on the environment.

The truth is, we can’t ignore the reality. The candle industry has a waste problem.

As much as we all love candles, the containers contribute to the waste in landfills.

For the past two years, I’ve been working on something to reduce that negative impact, navigating the patent process to bring it to life. Now, I can finally share more with you.

We always celebrate International Women’s Day.

And every year, we shine a light on the women-owned small businesses we admire.

But this year feels different. More urgent.

We’re watching small businesses close their doors. We’re seeing how deeply political decisions impact founders. We’re feeling, in very real ways, how women’s safety and autonomy are still at risk.

So showing up matters.

Continuing to build, to buy small, to support each other loudly and consistently is one way we can protest.

We recognize that shopping small is not always the most convenient or the most affordable. But, we want to make it more accessible by making it easier for you to find these businesses and give the option to support them.

So, here are just a few women-founded and operated indie businesses we think are worthy of your attention.
