Laborers' Local 172 presented two scholarships on July 10, 2023, to worthy recipients: Rebecca Chamberlain and Robert Hare.

These scholarships were in honor of longtime ACCNJ Member Paul Spatz and LiUNA Director of Apprenticeship Joseph DeMarco Jr.

V.A. Spatz and Sons is looking for tri-axle dump truck drivers to join their team. In order to be considered, you must have experience driving a tri-axle dump truck, a clean driving record and a strong safety record. You will be subject to a pre-employment motor vehicle check. Class A preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

- Safely and efficiently operating a Tri-axle dump truck.
- Transporting materials to and from specified destinations.
- Deliver materials such as asphalt and stone to a variety of job sites.
- Checks truck to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good
working order to assure roadworthiness.
- May do minor maintenance (grease, wash truck, etc.). Notifies supervisor
immediately of currently needed or anticipated repairs.
- Verifies the types of materials being hauled as well as their weight.
- Completes proper administrative paperwork and follows company policies and
procedures.

This is a full-time, hourly position with competitive pay and benefits as well as paid holidays. The position is based in our HQ location of Berkeley Heights, NJ, but daily travel could include trips across NJ and parts of NY, depending on the current job slate.
