Powers Goolsby Architects

Powers Goolsby Architects We are ministry driven architects providing ministry driven architecture. Powers Goolsby Architects is a dedicated Worship Facility Architecture firm.

While we are serious about our work, we also believe in having fun, breaking the mold and first impressions. The first impression for your church should also let people know who and what you are about. Well lit, open spaces and cramped, discolored spaces will give 2 different impressions. We break the mold by not being what you expect. We don’t wear suits or flip-flops (well, not in the office, ok

maybe on Fridays) We don’t wear the round, wire rimmed glasses and we smile a lot. We don’t use the same plan for every church, nor do we tell you what your building has to look like. We work with you and your ministries in order to determine what your Church is, what your Church needs and how your facilities should fit you, not you fitting your ministries to the building.

Today’s highlight: Praise Cathedral Church Of God In Christ in San Antonio, Texas was an incredible project to be a part of.

This new build included a sanctuary space, lobby, offices, and many other thoughtfully designed spaces created to serve their growing community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to help bring their vision to life and create a place that will impact generations to come.

We had a great time last night presenting our design vision to FBC Sutherland Springs. We are honored to play a part in such a strong and resilient church community, helping create something elegant yet simple that serves as a meaningful memorial for those they have lost.

10/20 Projects
Today’s highlight: Emmitt Park, San Antonio, Texas.

We are officially halfway through our 20 Projects for 20 Years series! It has been such a fun experience looking back on past projects and reflecting on the great memories, challenges, and meaningful spaces created along the way for the benefit of others.

Project #10 is Emmitt Park, part of CBC Park Phase II.

This phase of the park was thoughtfully and intentionally designed to create spaces where people can gather, connect, and build community. The design includes prayer circles for small group gatherings, dedicated food truck space, pickleball and volleyball courts, shaded seating areas, and sun shades placed throughout the park for comfort and usability.

One of our favorite parts of this project is that the park is open to the public and the courts are free to use. We love being able to contribute to spaces that serve and strengthen our community.
