For more than 25 years, I have poured my heart and soul into every project—designing interiors, restoring and repurposing furniture, teaching creative techniques, and helping clients create spaces that feel like home.

What many people see is the finished room, the restored piece, or the final reveal. What they don’t always see are the countless hours, the challenges, the lessons learned, and the passion behind every detail.

Your support reminds me why I started this journey and why I continue to love what I do every single day.

Basement Makeover | Designed for Making Memories

Sometimes the most impactful transformations come from reimagining what already exists.

This basement was designed for a wonderful family and their teenage daughter, Emma—a space where she can relax, spend time with friends, and create memories for years to come.

Working with a modest budget, our goal was to maximize both comfort and style while solving one of the room’s biggest challenges: an oversized built-in cabinet that felt overwhelming and made furniture placement difficult.

Rather than replacing it, we gave it new life.

✔ Painted the existing built-in in a rich custom green finish
✔ Added cane door inserts, updated hardware, and new lighting
✔ Painted the walls, trim, and ceiling in the same warm white tone to create a soft, cohesive backdrop
✔ Selected an oversized, ultra-comfortable sectional perfect for movie nights and gatherings
✔ Added layered accessories, textures, and furnishings to create warmth and function

One of my favorite parts of this project was incorporating my client’s own artwork throughout the space. As an artist, she has created beautiful, colorful pieces that bring personality, meaning, and a truly one-of-a-kind character to the room.

The result is a cozy, inviting retreat that feels fresh, intentional and uniquely theirs..

As a designer, furniture refinisher, and homeowner myself, I know how overwhelming renovations can feel. Every decision matters — from tile selections and cabinet finishes to lighting, furniture, layout, and materials.

My goal is never to simply create a “magazine-worthy” space.
My passion is creating homes that feel authentic, timeless, functional, and deeply personal to you.

Sometimes that means investing in quality pieces that will last for years.
Sometimes it means repurposing a beloved heirloom, refinishing a meaningful piece of furniture, or designing around items that already tell your story.

I believe good design should:
• Reflect your lifestyle
• Respect your budget
• Avoid costly mistakes
• Save you time and stress
• Create harmony throughout your entire home

I personally guide my clients through the process — listening carefully, researching materials, comparing quality, and helping every selection feel intentional and cohesive.

Because thoughtful design isn’t about buying the most expensive things.
It’s about creating a home that feels collected, lived in, beautiful, and truly yours.

FROM DAMAGED TO DESIGN FEATURE

Not everything beautiful has to be brand new.

This ceramic cherry was heavily scratched and damaged, but instead of replacing it, I decided to reimagine it.

Using layered finishes and specialty techniques, I created a custom aged metallic finish with rich bronze, copper, charcoal, and weathered rust tones that give the piece depth, texture, and character.

One of the things I love most about design is finding the potential in pieces that others may overlook. Whether it’s a family heirloom, a piece of furniture, or a decorative accessory, sometimes a thoughtful restoration can create something even more unique than the original.

Design isn’t always about buying new.

Sometimes it’s about seeing possibilities.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Their courage, service, and dedication have given us the freedom to build our lives, raise our families, pursue our dreams, and create homes filled with love and memories.

At M&B Studio, we are deeply grateful for the sacrifices made by our military heroes and their families. Today we remember those who served with honor and gave so much for all of us.
