Over the past month, I missed my daughter’s first school cheer performance and my son’s baseball once in a time baseball experience. These were important events in their lives and opportunities to witness milestones, activities they enjoy, time spent with friends, and experiences that contribute to their growth and development. During this time, my daughter prepared for these events without my usual involvement, and my son sent me a message letting me know he had left out the outfit I would normally wear to attend his games. These moments highlighted the change from the level of participation I have consistently maintained throughout their lives.
For the past thirteen years, I have been a full-time, actively involved parent. I have attended my children’s school events, supported their academic work, volunteered in their classrooms, managed their activities and sports schedules, coordinated transportation, accompanied them to medical appointments, and organized their day-to-day responsibilities while also maintaining work commitments whenever possible.
Throughout their lives, I have focused on providing consistent support, guidance, and care. I have encouraged them to be respectful, humble, value their friendships, maintain strong family relationships, and act with honesty and integrity. I have shared travel experiences with them and dedicated the majority of my time to their upbringing. Since they were young children, I have rarely spent more than a few days away from them, apart from extended summer camp programs.
Being actively involved in my children’s lives has been a central part of my role as a parent. I have consistently participated in their education, extracurricular activities, personal development, and daily routines.
The relationship between a parent and child is significant and enduring. Children benefit from the presence, support, and guidance of parents who have consistently participated in their lives and well-being.
I am grateful to the family members, friends, and others who have provided support and assistance to me and my family during this period. Their help has been greatly appreciated.
I remain committed, loyal, and devoted to my family.
Love you, Caroline and JJ.
