A plumbing diagnosis should leave you with answers, not more confusion. That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every call.

Our process is fairly simple. You tell us what you're seeing, we find out what's causing it, and then we review your options and what each one costs while you still have the full picture.

A frost-free hose bib is helpful, but it's not a replacement for winter prep. It's built to drain itself, and it can't do that with a hose still screwed on.

Water left inside the faucet has nowhere to go. When it freezes, it expands, and that pressure can split the pipe running back into your house.

So take the hose off before the first freeze, let the faucet drain for a minute, and close the indoor shutoff valve if your home has one.

Here are the spots we'd check first:

🔹 Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses so water isn't left sitting in the spigot
🔹 Look over each exterior hose bib for drips, cracks, or a fitting that won't tighten
🔹 Find your indoor shutoff valves and make sure you can reach them and turn them
🔹 Insulate or cover pipe that runs through a crawlspace, garage, or unheated basement
🔹 Keep the heat on at a steady setting if you'll be away, since an empty house cools down quickly
