🌨️🚧 ICE STORM RESPONSE – PLEASE READ 🚧🌨️
We will be out volunteering and helping our community through this ice storm. Our primary volunteer focus will be opening driveways and, when possible, helping clear roads so people can get in and out safely. If you are trapped, unable to leave, or cannot be reached by emergency services, we want to help. ❤️
Full emergency mitigation—trees on homes, roofs, and structures that are actively causing damage—must remain reserved for paid emergency work so we can sustain crews, equipment, and long-hour response during a mass event. That distinction allows us to help more people overall.
Please understand that emergency tree work is very specific.
A tree qualifies as an emergency when it is on a structure and actively causing, or likely to cause, further damage—such as a limb that has opened a hole in the roof, is shifting under load, or is allowing water intrusion that will continue to damage the home, contents, or framing.
A small limb simply resting on a roof, with no pe*******on or ongoing damage, may still be an insurance-related situation—but it is not always an emergency response.
Other conditions that qualify as emergencies include trees or limbs that are:
🚪 Blocking entry or exit to a home (ingress/egress)
🚑 Preventing emergency access for fire, EMS, or law enforcement
🐕 On a security fence where pets or livestock can escape or be harmed
Emergency work is about mitigating further loss. Homeowners have a duty under their insurance policy to prevent additional damage to the structure, contents, and covered property. Our role is to make the situation safe and stop the damage from getting worse.
We are trained to evaluate whether your situation truly qualifies as an emergency and whether it makes sense to involve insurance. Many ice storm claims do not exceed medium-to-high deductibles. In those cases, it may be more cost-effective to handle the work directly rather than filing a claim. We will walk you through that honestly.
If you choose to proceed through insurance, we can bill your carrier directly in most cases to simplify the process. You will have $0 out-of-pocket at the time of service. The haul-off portion, when covered under your policy limits, can help absorb some of your deductible. There are no guarantees—coverage and limits are determined by your insurance carrier.
👉 Ultimately, your deductible is your responsibility.
During an emergency response:
🪚 We only remove what is necessary to eliminate hazards and prevent further damage
🌳 We do not shape trees or perform cosmetic pruning
⚠️ We avoid cutting anything that does not directly threaten safety, structures, utilities, pets, or people
✂️ “Repair cuts” and proper storm pruning may be performed where needed for tree health
After all emergency situations are stabilized, we will then move to:
• Hangers and broken limbs
• Proper storm pruning
• Post-storm evaluations for existing customers
We are fully insured, including Workers’ Comp, and have extensive storm experience across multiple states.
We operate professional climbers, spider lifts, bucket trucks, and in-house crane services. These resources are also available to other tree companies during storm events when additional emergency capacity is needed.
Please understand:
📞 Call volume during mass events is overwhelming
⏳ Calling does not guarantee immediate service unless it is a true emergency
🛠️ Non-emergency work will be scheduled once conditions are safe
📝 You may call for an evaluation, pricing, and to secure a place on the list
⭐ Current and previous LTS Trees customers receive top priority.
If this is a true emergency, call—day or night. We will be standing by. If this becomes a mass event, calling early matters. We will respond with our current crews and equipment, and if necessary, we will bring in additional professional resources from outside the area.
We will do everything we can. Please be patient.
Safety comes first—for you, for your property, and for our crews. 301-461-9337
