The most overlooked room in the home might surprise you.

After revealing the kitchen, this laundry room deserved its moment too. One of my favorite details from the project is the custom ladder we designed for the kitchen — but we made sure it could work here as well so the upper cabinets are actually usable.

This is your reminder that thoughtful design shouldn’t stop at the “pretty” rooms.

My client wanted an overall neutral palette and an aesthetic that felt modern, while still honoring the time period of her home.

I knew that I wanted to bring in one special element for that “wow factor” and I selected a quartzite that would warm up the space and serve as the star of the show.

Design Tip: If you’re afraid of color, start with nature. 🌊 🌿

This before and after proves that pops of color can still feel calm, timeless, and neutral.

Remember: neutrals aren’t just whites and beiges- they’re the shades found in nature. When in doubt, go with blues and greens- they always play nice.

This color combo is: Oval Room Blue (walls) and Inchyra Blue (Trim), both by Farrow and Ball.

One of the most common adjectives I hear from clients on how they want a room to feel is “cozy”.

Cozy can mean so many different things to people and be achieved in different ways, so let’s break down this ultra cozy den, shall we?

I wanted this space to feel like it enveloped you the moment you walked in, which meant treating every single surface, especially the ceiling. I could have color drenched the ceiling and saved some $, but I knew that planking the ceiling and adding white oak beams would create a wow factor.

Architectural canned lights add a gorgeous pop along with the sconces and art light.

With a room like this, texture is a MUST. This beautiful rug does just that.

Let’s take a moment for this sweet powder room that’s full of color and personality. 👏

My clients didn’t intend on renovating this space, but after it was necessary to remove everything due to mold issues, it became necessary to start from scratch.

They loved the previous floral wallpaper, so we used that as inspiration and layered on additional fun elements, like this incredible terrazzo-looking wall sink. 😍

Powder rooms are always great rooms to take risks because you don’t spend a ton of time in them, am I right?
