Can you even believe this is the same kitchen?! 🤯

Our goals in this kitchen were as follows:

Gain more usable space.

Update EVERYTHING.

Make this open to the sunken den below.

In order to achieve those goals, we extended the kitchen into the sunken den to gain more space and removed the wall between what was the old kitchen and small dining area.

By removing one of the windows, we were able to use that main wall as our range wall, keeping everything open to the den.

As the saying goes, “when one window closes, you get a bangin’ kitchen”. 🔥

Kids have jam hands. I get it. And you don’t want those jam hands on an expensive white sofa. I get that too.

So instead of investing in your home and making it feel like grown ups live there, you’re sticking with the college IKEA furniture until your own kids go to college. Sound about right?

First of all- tell those gremlins to wash their dang hands! 😂

Second- investing in quality pieces and performance fabrics actually help keep your furniture around and cleaner longer.

I promise you that you can have both children (and pets) and be proud to invite your friends over for dinner without feeling like you live in a museum.

Life is short. Stop living in a sad and boring home if you can help it.

Raise your hand if you’re afraid of color? 🙋🏼‍♀️

I get it. What if you get sick of it? What if it doesn’t go with the rest of your house? What if you pick the wrong shade and suddenly your “soft sage green” is giving hospital waiting room?

Hello!!! This is what I’m here for.

If you’re a neutral-loving girlie but your house is starting to feel a little beige and sad, you do NOT need to suddenly paint your dining room purple.

I love pulling in colors that already exist in nature—soft blues, muddy greens, even the right dusty pink. They play so well with warm whites, woods and other neutrals that they almost act like neutrals themselves.

Be sure to save for your next painting project.
