Why it is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL that you check the soil of your plant before watering!👏👏👏

The signs of over-watering & under-watering often look the exact same — so next time you go to water that droopy plant, make sure to check the soil first to find out why it’s wilting in the first place‼️

How to know your plant is completely dry & ready for more water (part 2)!!

In my last video I mentioned 4 ways to know your plant is dry all the way to the bottom of the pot…and then I thought of a few more😅 so you guys get a part 2!

3 MORE ways to know your plant is ready for water!⬇️

1. Check how light vs heavy your plant is. A very light plant will be dry, and a very heavy plant is typically nice and watered!

2. Look for the Gap of Death!! When the soil is so compact that it creates a space between it and your pot…it’s very dry and ready for water. (I’ll make a detailed video about this later!)

3. Wilting leaves/droopy plant! When your plant starts to wilt AND the soil feels dry that is a sign that the soil is completely dry and your plant is thirsty!

Any questions?? Thoughts?? Lemme know!🫶

I pretty much only keep plants in my collection that are low maintenance & I can let dry out completely….and once they’re dry, I soak them!! BUT how can you tell your plants are dry all the way down to the bottom of the pot??🤔

Here’s a few ways!⬇️

1. Touch the soil at the bottom through the drainage holes of your plant if you can!

2. Use a chop stick/wooden skewer & stick it into the soil all the way down! If it comes out clean - your plant is dry! If it comes out wet & dirty - your plant is still wet.

3. Clear nursery pots! This way you can see the soil and if it’s dry or wet!

4. Naked Root Planters!! These are AMAZING! They have tons of drainage that make it easy to assess the soil at the bottom of the plant! (Use my code CAPNCOURT10 for 10% off )

Make sure you’re following along for part 2 where I’ll share a couple more ways to know your plant is totally dry & ready to be watered!💚
