Meet Mitch Bauer, Consulting Arborist at Birch Tree Care.

With 25 years of experience in the tree care industry, Mitch brings extensive knowledge in tree health evaluations, risk management, and urban tree planting. He began his career in 2001 as a groundsman and worked his way up through climber and crew leader roles.

Mitch earned his ISA Certified Arborist credential and pesticide applicator license, later serving as a Plant Health Care Technician before transitioning into a Consulting Arborist role in 2015. His long-standing experience and passion for the industry continue to guide his work with clients and the team.

Outside of work, Mitch and his wife enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest, raising their two sons, and spending time with family at the lake.

Meet Paul Asleson, Consulting Arborist at Birch Tree Care.

With 24 years in the green industry, Paul is an ISA Certified Arborist with a background in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota. He is also a Minnesota-certified tree inspector and licensed commercial pesticide applicator.

Paul began his career as a tree crew ground technician during college and has worked across multiple roles including turf and plant health care technician, supervisor, division manager, and consulting arborist. His experience in tree biology and product chemistry supports his focus on Plant Health Care and long-term tree health.

He values helping neighbors, friends, and clients better understand and appreciate the benefits of their trees.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, and playing golf and volleyball. He also enjoys repurposing trees into tables, benches, mantels, and seasonal creations.

Meet John Sirbasku, Consulting Sales Arborist at Birch Tree Care.

John began working with trees right after high school in 1991, starting as a groundworker and building a career that spans more than three decades. He earned his ISA Arborist Certification in 1995 and spent over 20 years as a working climber, along with running his own tree service for a decade.

His experience also includes teaching tree climbing and basic arboriculture at Hennepin Technical College, as well as serving in leadership roles like Operations Manager, Safety Manager, and Technical Advisor on complex projects.

Since joining Birch Tree Care in 2026, John has focused on helping clients care for and improve the resilience and beauty of their trees through thoughtful, experienced guidance.

Outside of work, John enjoys hiking, fishing, boating, camping, and exploring off-grid destinations. He’s also proud to share the industry with his daughter, an arborist and skilled climber, and loves spending time with his granddaughter.
