Mt. Bierstadt, standing at 14,066 feet elevation, is one of 53 Colorado peaks over 14k feet, commonly known as 14’ers. 
At 64 years of age I guess it was wishful thinking that I could summit my first attempt. At approximately 13,000 feet the oxygen level was noticeably lower and painful for my lungs.  It was steep and rocky. I loved the challenge. The views are extraordinary.
