A small family owned and operated nursery and design business, specializing in New York Native plants, both shade and sun loving. We grow our own plants from seed & division. This means that we know exactly how they have been raised/grown right from beginning to end. You can always depend on our plants being fungicide & PESTICIDE FREE! Never any need to worry about planting them in your wildlife

garden and inadvertently harming your birds, butterflies, pets or pollinators. (If you are gardening for wildlife, regardless of where you buy your plants, PLEASE ask how they are grown! If your salesperson does not know....WALK AWAY!)

Planting maps & designs are FREE if you are using us and our plants. We can make a beautiful Hummingbird, Butterfly, Pollinator or Woodland Garden for you. With the years of experience growing our own plants, we know exactly what conditions they need to thrive in your yard. (518)441-9823

Nursery News:

*Most PLUGS are now good to go.
*Perennial Tables, Vineland & Tree & Shrubland are full! (mostly)
*Woodland Gardens are on the downslide from "Prime" but still looking pretty good if you want to stroll!
**I'm still getting asked if it's OK for Photographer & Birder groups to come stroll the grounds and YES! You are most welcome to come with cameras & binoculars! 😁

This young lady with the big smile is Emmaelle.

She is one of the educators at Dyken Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center...and just picked up the replacement Pitcher Plants (Sarracenia purpurea) that you guys donated.
She wanted me to thank you and tell you all how grateful they are for the love.

I still have people asking to donate plants to them...
but at this point... they are thinking about installing security (trail cams & signs) to protect their precious plants.
If anyone wants to reach out to them directly...maybe they could use help acquiring those.

And I also want to thank you all for being such wonderful humans! 🤗

The Bad & the Good...
I learned yesterday that the 5 Purple Pitcher Plants
(Sarracenia purpurea)
at the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center...
(Their entire collection)
were dug up & stolen this week. 😡
(Pretty low in my opinion...stealing from a non-profit nature center.)
Anyway...I donated one...and one of my customers was here and heard us talking about it....and she wanted to donate one, too.
So at least 2 have been replaced at no cost to the center.
The kindness & generosity of my customers continues to restore my faith in humans.

Tomorrow will be my 1st whole day off since Feb. 🥳
(You all know what I'll be doin!😆)

He will be manning the nursery tomorrow so...feel free to stop in & say "Hi!"
*Nursery tables are almost full now and many plugs are ready to go!
Also...Woodlands Gardens are still prime,
so you are welcome to take a stroll! 😁

2 healthy little doves in the Aster (oblongifolia) section.

For those of you that remember the Giant Swallowtail cats I had in our Butterfly Box last summer...(That I thought would emerge in time to fly away...but didn't.)
So, they spent the winter in the butterfly box in the (UNheated) greenhouse.
This morning the 1st one emerged...perfectly healthy & lively!
I released it on the Foamflower blooms...which it seemed to like.
It even stuck around long enough for me to get some pictures!

Lots of calls about if I'm open today. :-)
YES!
I'm here all day,
but will be with the local chapter of Wild Ones from 11:30-1:30 in the gardens doin a tour.
Randy (from Faddegons) will be manning the nursery during the tour...so there is knowledgeable help to answer questions while I'm away. :-)
