These are photos of the completed project from the last post that I had shared only the prep work. I got busy on other jobs and forgot to post the finished work.

Lots of prep on this one to get it ready for tile. Tomorrow, I'll get to start setting the tile on the tub surround walls.

The floor was not flat. There were spots on the floor that were ½" higher than other spots. The tub surround framing was not plumb, not istalled in a flat plain, nor was the framing of the walls quite square with one another. This is quite a common occurrence on remodel projects, and it's important to address it beforehand for a clean, professional looking tile job. Tile always requires a flat base to start with.

For prep on this one I prepared, primed, mapped out, then poured a cementious self leveler with fiberglass reinforcing fibers on the floor to prepare it for the uncoupling membrane I'll install before the tile. On the tub surround walls, I mapped out then installed closed cell foam shims where I attach the backerboard to bring the surface into a flat plain and make the surface is plumb and ensure surfaces are square with one another. I then installed pre waterproofed tile backerboard and the corresponding sealant over the seams, where the board meets the tub deck and over the coated fasteners. I'm excited to start setting the hexagon tile. Stay tuned for updates on this one.
