After nearly forty years in their Reno home, R and K were ready for something smaller. Their adult son was searching for a house for his growing family. The solution they found didn't require anyone to move far.
Their lot was large enough to build an accessory dwelling unit — a smaller, complete home on the same property. Their son purchased the existing house. They built the ADU. Now two households share one piece of land, each with their own space, close to the people they love.
It's the kind of solution that only becomes visible when you stop and look at what you already have.
