Behold, He does a new thing. He’s been doing a new thing ever since. Over and over again. I feel like we’re walking through a shift of a “new thing”, but a revived thing. Revival of the church. But also a revival of lifestyle. I understand that revival, for decades, has been about the church returning to the word, biblical principles, and good doctrine. But friends, I believe that a revival of this homesteading lifestyle is not by happenstance. God’s ready for us to go “all in”.
It is a new thing, and it is a thing that will sustain the church and a nation when everything else is going crazy.
Embrace this new thing. Homesteaders and farmers have been the backbone of nations since the beginning of time. And they are exactly that now. If you can’t be one, support one. Get your family and friends away from the grocery store and connected to local food.
There’s a physical aspect to this revival of lifestyle—in the kingdom mindset and the homesteading mindset. I encourage you to dive deeper. Spend your money more wisely. You can’t eat a fancy handbag or shoes when the chaos comes. You can’t support your community by showing them your riches, unless they are the riches of good food, the good word, and the beasts of the field.
Choose wisely. Serve well. And let’s not forget the call to work with our hands wasn’t just for “that generation”, but for all generations. It’s time to have a culture overhaul, starting with the church.
