Had a customer reach out to us with concerns that they had an extreme blockage in the Dryer Vent and wanted us to come out and take care of the issue. We showed up the next day to resolve the problem.

The customer informed us that she had another company out before us for a $69 Special Dryer vent cleaning And tried to use scare tactics and pressuring her because they said there was an extreme blockage and it would cost $350 in order for them to do the cleaning and remove the blockage.

We performed an airflow test before we started and the airflow at the Dryer was not terrible and once we ran the inspection camera in the ductwork, we did not find any issues with an extreme blockage. Just a small buildup. There was also no buildup inside the dryer and very little lint buildup at the exhaust vent on the roof.

We did end up changing out the transition line on the back of the dryer when the previous company attempted to reinstall it they did not do it properly and damaged to the existing transition line. After the complete cleaning airflow was extremely good. We started at 600 ft./min. and when we finished airflow was just over 1000 ft./min.

Anyone seeking to have their dryer vent cleaned they need to do a little research because if the company is offering a Vent cleaning special once they get in the door that price is going to more than Double.

Customer was complaining about long drying time, it was taking 2 hours to dry a small load of laundry. I tested airflow at the dryer and there was zero airflow. After doing the camera inspection, we found that there was a buildup on the roof, which was not allowing airflow to get all the way up and out, and was also causing the lint to buildup inside the dryer. This is becoming a very common occurrence with all of the new roofs going on in the area when the roofers peel the old roof off and lay down the new roof they don’t reattach the exhaust vent for the dryer. It is something that goes unnoticed as you are blowing Dryer lint into your attic space. Do any of the other dryer vent companies in the area clean the dryer cabinets? If they are not, you are putting yourself and your loved ones at risk. Dryer fires are real thing and the fire starts in the dryer not in the ductwork. This particular dryer fire did not start at the heating element as they often do. A customer reached out to us after they had their home inspection done. The ductwork was not strapped properly when it was installed so it fell down away from the roof.
