We wanted to share a look at a kitchen project we had the opportunity to contribute to with custom woodwork details.

For this project, we built and installed the butcher block island countertop along with the matching trim detail on the vent hood. The natural wood tones paired beautifully with the soft cabinetry and helped give the kitchen a clean, inviting feel.

We gave our CraftBuilt workshop a storage facelift with a custom 35-tote storage system.

As the shop has gotten busier, we needed a better way to keep materials, tools, and supplies organized and easy to access. This week, we carved out some time to build this system to help maximize space while keeping everything clean and functional.

A tub/shower combo can feel a lot more custom with the right details.

These are a few past projects showing how full tile surrounds, recessed niches, and thoughtful tile layouts can completely change the feel of a bathroom and make the space feel much more finished and intentional.

We recently finished this kitchen refresh and are really happy with how this space came together.

Sometimes a kitchen doesn’t need a full remodel — updating a few key elements can completely elevate the feel of the space. For this project, the new subway tile backsplash added brightness and a more finished look while complementing the existing cabinets and countertops beautifully.

This custom bench was designed specifically for the space to create comfortable seating while also adding practical hidden storage below.

We built the bench wall-to-wall to fit naturally with the windows and finished it with a butcher block style wood top that brought warmth and contrast into the room.

Larger remodels keep us busy, but we still make time for smaller home improvement and carpentry projects.

Yesterday, that included installing this new storm door. The new full-view black door gave the entry a cleaner, more updated look while allowing in a lot more natural light.

This ceiling transformation at Lady Oscar Venue and Events is officially complete.

Before the update, the hallway was covered by a standard drop ceiling, giving it a more commercial feel. We removed it completely, opened everything up, and rebuilt the ceiling from the framing up.

Now, instead of panels and fluorescent boxes, the space has a smooth, finished ceiling that reflects light, adds height, and brings a more refined feel. (Note: if you’re looking for a great place to host an event, Lady Oscar is definitely worth considering.)

This wasn’t just a cosmetic swap—it took:
• Reframing
• Drywall installation
• Detailed finishing work

All with one goal in mind: to create a space that feels intentional, cohesive, and built to last.

A small detail like updated porch columns can completely change how a space feels.

This back porch project focused on three columns that needed some attention at the base. We reinforced the lower sections and added a stone veneer wrap to give them a more solid, finished appearance.

The structure itself was still in good shape—this was about addressing wear, adding protection, and bringing a bit more character into the space. The stone helps visually anchor the columns and ties in naturally with the surrounding patio and landscaping.

It’s a simple upgrade, but one that makes the whole porch feel more complete.

We recently passed 100 followers—thank you!

It felt like a good time to reintroduce the person behind the work.

Meet Ryan, the craftsman and owner of CraftBuilt.
Ryan doesn’t just run projects, he’s the one doing the work.

From the first conversation to the final detail, he manages each job personally and is on-site building it — no handoffs, no rotating crews, and no disconnect between the plan and ex*****on.

He takes on one large project at a time, giving each his full attention from start to finish.

Formerly an engineer, his work is precise, up to code, and built to last.

His work includes:
- Kitchens and bathroom remodels
- Custom tile (showers, heated floors, fireplaces, ceilings)
- Cabinetry and built-ins
- Finish carpentry and detailed trim work
- Quality home repairs

Outside of job sites, he restores antique woodworking tools and puts them back to use, an extension of how he approaches his craft: quality, longevity, and intention.

Out with the drop ceiling… and in with something built to last.

We’re back on Main Street at Lady Oscar Venue and Events working on a ceiling upgrade—demoing an old grid system and opening things up, then reframing, drywalling, and finishing for a more refined look.

This space is a staple here in Versailles, and it means a lot to us to support other small businesses in our community.

This project is still in progress, but the transformation is already taking shape. More sanding, skim coating, etc to work on today. We're looking forward to sharing the finished results soon.
