I made 8 pints of Pork N Beans. I’ve never tired this before so I’ll have to update on taste. I will say the sauce I used taste just like the can.
Pork n Beans
Navy Beans
2 quarts Tomato Sauce
2-3 tablespoons of Mustard
4 tablespoons of Molasses
1/2 cup of Brown sugar
3 cups of Chicken Broth
Bacon
Onions
Wash beans and take out beans that look bad. (I pre-measure all my beans before I wash them) Wash jars and sterilize.
In a cooker heat up tomato sauce, mustard, molasses, brown sugar. Keep hot and set aside.
Fill jars
Add beans, onions and bacon and pour hot tomato sauce mixture over beans leaving 1” headspace, add lids and rings finger tight.
The recipe above made 8 pints.
