I couldn’t resist sharing this beautiful bush blooming and it is not Forsythia, . It’s winter Jasmine. Has no smell, but it’s so pretty especially when I look around my garden and see snow laying on the ground. The post is leaning a little crooked these days because a couple years ago, it rotted off at the bottom and this bush is the only thing holding that post up, but like I said, I couldn’t resist sharing this. It just makes me happy looking at it. Have a great day. Hopefully the weather will turn warm again soon.

It looks like this has become the retirement home! Just laying around doing nothing-not laying a single egg and destroying their feed like two year olds throwing a tantrum! If I didn’t care about them, I’d give them away! The reason why they have so much dry dirt is because I spent three days putting up greenhouse panels and plastic so the run didn’t get soaked and muddy wet and this is how they thank me, lol. I guess they’re happy since the white one is now 9 years old from the first batch!

The Magnificence of August! The Crepe Myrtle next to the steps is the only one I’ve ever bought. The rest in our yard are gifts from the birds. The deep pink is my favorite. What a beautiful tree, messy but beautiful!

I posted this morning a comment about the Christmas tree air fresheners that we hang in our cars about how they repel flies out according to what I was told it has to be the vanilla sent not any of the other cents but the vanilla. Evidently the flies do not like that particular smell I don’t know why, but I went to Dollar tree and they only had other cons that I wasn’t familiar with and they were $1.25 for one I went to ShopRite and they had three of them in a package and I think it was about 250 for the package. I’m not exactly sure. I just grabbed them and ran cause I was in a hurry, but I got them at ShopRite. And they do work I’ve been going in and out of the coop, testing to see if they were working and so far so good.

Remember, this is a chicken coop and when there is a chicken coop plus chickens equal chicken p**p which also equals flies. I absolutely hate those hanging bags full of flies. They smell so bad it’s nauseating. I clean my coop every morning all the p**p out from under where they roost during the night, but I still have flies until somebody told me and I never would’ve believed this to hang vanilla Christmas trees that you put in your car hang them in the coop no more flies and guess what it really works. I have two hanging in the coop and one hanging in the run and I’m not seeing any flies. They have gone away. Yes, the coop needs a good cleaning and vacuuming down, but that’s just not a priority right this minute, but I know one thing every time you walk into the run and the coup, all you smell is vanilla and to not be able to see any flies is really a blessing.

Chainsaw Bob is at it again! I feel somewhat sad but also a little relieved. These arborvitae’s have stood at the end of our driveway for at least 15 years. Who knew they would grow so tall and large. Again I didn’t do my homework so learn this lesson from me! It looks bare because I’ve grown so used to them. They could t be pulled out because of damage to the irrigation.

HAPPY MONDAY MORNING! Lesson of the day! 20 years ago I was on a arborvitae binge and planted several. I didn't do the homework when I should have. I see this one everyday as I walk past it and while I sit on the porch for a break. In a matter of just a few days, the tiny bag worms destroyed a third of this tree. Bob tried cutting that part out and was on his way to mix up the spray when I told him it looked ridiculous and would never grow back so he took out the chainsaw and had a Bob party. Bob loves to seek and destroy with the chainsaw. Tree has now been relocated out at the street for pickup. It looks so bare there. We have two others out at the street that stand like sentinels at the end of both sides of the driveway. My guess is those are going to disappear in the near future. ALWAYS before planting, research every detail you can find! I think I have finally learned my lesson!
