Sometimes a project can be less about cosmetics and more about necessity! This client lives in a historic home, pre-1925, and has an unfinished basement. The basement floor & river rock foundation walls were encapsulated, but the "ceiling" was left exposed. Our client suffers from severe allergies and continued having issues with dust and residual mildew staining on the exposed floor beams.
Roanoke Revival Painting Co was contracted to add two floating partition walls, using 2x2's & PVC board, to divide the basement into a work area, and a separate storage area. We then primed the "ceiling" and everything attached to the ceiling, using Sherwin Williams Pro Block primer. We then top coated using Sherwin Williams Dry-fall in matte Black! Dry-fall paint is very unique because, when sprayed, it only needs a clearance of approximately 7ft, to Dry; This means, any overspray or residual paint is completely dry, before it touches the floor, making cleanup a breeze! For this type of project, because we were instructed to paint HVAC ductwork, electrical, and water lines, spraying was the only option, and Dry-fall is great for all the above surfaces, and so much more!
What do you think of the stark contrast; from the dramatic black ceilings, to the bright white walls & floor? Our client is in love 💕 and we totally get that!
