Happy Juneteenth! ποΈβπΎ
On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved people in the United States received the news of their freedom β a moment that represents one of the most important chapters in American history. Juneteenth is a day of celebration, reflection, and remembrance. It belongs to all of us.
Today we honor the resilience, culture, and enduring strength of Black Americans β and we recommit to building a country that truly lives up to its promise of freedom for all. πΊπΈ
And yes β today is also Garfield the Cat's birthday! The lasagna-loving legend debuted June 19, 1978. We think he'd want you to celebrate Juneteenth AND eat something delicious today. π§‘
