Our Story

Our story begins in the late 1980's. We would often talk with our dad about our future, what plans we had for college and what we wanted to study. We were undecided. Our dad told us our grandfather was a plumber and if he did not die at a young age, our dad would have become a plumber as well. It would have been possible we would have continued in a family plumbing business.

The idea of a family business had our interest and we decided to continue. The three brothers took HVAC courses in high school and entered a city competition for HVAC students. We placed 2nd and 3rd which allowed us to compete in the Texas state competition. In the state competition we placed 2nd and were offered a scholarship to go to Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Phoenix, AZ. We completed our schooling and earned a degree in HVAC.

Upon graduation the brothers went in different directions, Tom moved to Georgia while Brian and Mike stayed in Texas and later to New York all of working for HVAC companies. In 1995 we discussed moving to a same location and starting our business together. We chose Virginia Beach because when we were younger our father, while stationed at Fort Lee, VA, would bring us to the beach on weekends. We enjoyed the area and thought what a great place for a HVAC business.

The Brothers worked for a couple of HVAC companies in Virginia Beach for 10 years acquiring residential and commercial experiences. In 2005, the owner of the company Mike worked for decided to retire and offered to sell the company (Trucks and Equipment) to us. At that time, My Three Sons, was established.

When we bought the company it was a residential company, we have added several commercial accounts to bring us to 40% commercial and 60% residential. My Three Sons is a family-owned company with a combined experience of 50 years. In 2015, My Three Sons, was reestablished as MTS Refrigeration and became a Class B contractor, fully licensed and insured. We specialize in maintenance, repair, and installation of air conditioning and heating systems, refrigeration equipment, and restaurant equipment. We guarantee dependable service, quality work, and professionalism.

Mike, Brian, and Tom have tested and received certification as Master Technicians in HVAC Industry. And also hold a Master Gas License. As certified technicians, we can service any brand of equipment. We offer on-call service, free estimates on equipment change outs, and affordable rates on service and installs. Our employees working for us continuously go through training courses to advance themselves for their Master Technician Certification & Licenses.

In addition to owning MTS Refrigeration, Mike is an instructor for Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) teaching an apprenticeship program for technicians in the field working toward getting their journeyman certification.
