120 feet of new 6’ privacy fence with new gates for lovely friends of ours and their neighbor. The Trees, heat, and slope made this one of the more challenging fences I’ve done. It was nice to pour water over my head and look at it all completed this evening.

This has been one of my learned solutions when installing fan rated boxes, if you have used these new/old work kits you’ll notice the box normally lands somewhere above or below flush with the ceiling. This trick allows me to be able to attach it to the studs without removing the box and measuring. I usually just staple the shims to the ceiling and go into the attic when installing through a 4” hole.

Swipe to see photos of the original Frankenstein framing that held a ceiling fan above a bed. Two 2X4s sandwiched around an old light fixture housing with just a 12” hot and neutral stranded wire branched from the original Romex 😳

Solution:
*Fan rated electrical box
*Install junction box with cap in attic with a service loop branched to the newly installed fan box
*3/4” drywall cut to size with 4” hole to patch large hole in plaster.
*Flush mounted new fan with 16” ceiling medallion

Vinyl siding repair, those things were toasted!
