BIG NEWS GROVE CITY!! Voltz Service Company is now offering NO DIG sewer repair!!! (Well, in most cases no dig. Sometimes we might have to dig a hole) If you aren’t aware yet, any real estate transactions in Grove City or any upstream communities MUST have their sewer lateral camera’d. Roots, cracks, and holes will not pass inspection. The following 2 pictures show before and after of repairing 33 feet of clay tile pie that was full of roots and cracks.

Word on the street is that there is a shortage of houses for sale in our area. Because of this, many buyers are opting to not get a home inspection. They are afraid that someone else will buy the house out from under them while they’re waiting for an inspection. It’s a big mistake to not get an inspection! This is the biggest purchase you will probably ever make! If you’re buying a house, give me a call. In most cases I can fit you in within 24 hours.

WARNING POST!!!
Over the last few weeks I’ve serviced several boiler systems and several forced air furnaces. One of the forced air furnaces was located in a closet space in a bedroom. By some crazy miracle, a major part of the exhaust system stopped working at the exact time I was cleaning the furnace. I was able to find the part at one of my suppliers and proceeded to replace it. When I pulled the old part out, I was shocked to find a hole worn into the housing. This was causing the exhaust of the furnace to be blown directly into the closet, and therefore into the bedroom. This easily could have been a story on the news about someone not waking up due to carbon monoxide poisoning. These folks were extremely lucky. THERE WAS NO CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN THE BEDROOM!! IF YOU HAVE A GAS FURNACE AND/ OR A GAS HOT WATER TANK, YOU MUST HAVE A CO DETECTOR IN THE VICINITY!
THIS COULD TRULY BE A MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH!
Remember, if you need your furnace serviced or repaired, or if you have trouble with your hot water tank, give me a call.

I serviced 2 furnaces today! What does that mean? Quite a bit, actually. I fired them up and observed the flames for proper burning. Next I measured the draw of the various electrical motors to see If they were within the proper range. I used my handy dandy (and pretty expensive) carbon monoxide detector to make sure no dangerous gases were getting into the house. I checked and changed the air filters. Lastly, I used a shop vac to sweep debris and dust out the cabinet and cobwebs from the outside. Will this keep the furnaces from breaking down? Absolutely not. But what it did do was let me identify a couple of small problems to the homeowner so that they can begin to budget for the repairs in the future. It also brought something else to light…the homeowner last changed the air filters a year ago. THATS A PROBLEM!! In the air conditioning season, air filters need replaced monthly. In heating season, you can stretch it out a bit farther. Let’s say every 2-3 months. This is a critical step that will greatly save you money on energy and repairs!
If you would like to schedule a service for your gas or propane forced air furnace, or if you have a breakdown, give me a call. I’ll be happy to help!
