calathea tricolor, a very striking and beautiful leaf pattern with pink, green, and white streaks throughout. Can be grown outside, in the shade (in our local area) from about now until it starts to freeze. i would recommend keeping them in pots so you could bring them in for the winter. they’d also be very happy as a houseplant kept in a low light/high humidity area. (i find that bathrooms are best for these guys).

calathea’s, aka “prayer plants” are called that because during the day their leaves fold out more horizontally and at night they make a switch to a vertical stance almost as if they were “praying” before bedtime. they’re one of my favorite plants!

i’ve got some 3gal pots of these guys, big and overflowing! Only 3 of them are available for now.
